Lanny G. Confer III, 23, of North Huntingdon, died Friday, April 10, 2009, at his home. He was born March 13, 1986, in Jeannette, a son of Lanny G. Confer II and Dana L. (Brown) Confer, of Greensburg. Lanny was a pressure washer for Perfect Industrial Cleaning, and was a member of the Roosevelt Club of Greensburg and Hartford Heights fire hall. In addition to his parents, Lanny is survived by two children, Lanny G. Confer IV and Evelyn M. Confer, both at home; his fiancee, Cassie Bianco, of North Huntingdon; two sisters, Tracy Kruel, of Irwin, and Heather Confer, of Greensburg; paternal grandparents, William and Chelsea Harrold, of Arona, and Lanny G. Confer Sr. and Tona, of Alabama; maternal grandmother, Ann Brown, of Alabama; maternal great-grandmother, Evelyn Pugh, of Alabama; his best friend, Darci Sten; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death were his grandfather, Keith Brown; stepgrandfather, Thomas Rickard; and an aunt, Lynn Cruder. Lanny loved his children, golfing and hunting, and was an avid Pittsburgh Penguins fan.
I had Known Lanny since he was 16 and he was only 23 when he passed away. I was Amazed at Lanny's golf expertise and if I had only been richer I would have sponsored him in major tournaments, because I knew he could have really made something of it, I had no doubt he could have been the next biggest thing since Tiger Woods! Lanny was a pretty big Sports fan when it came to the Pittsburgh Steelers and especially the Pittsburgh Penguins. I have never Known anyone as big as a Pittsburgh Penguins fan as he was! Lanny Tried very hard and worked long hours, to get somewhere. Both Him and my Daughter pushed their limits to get an old home and have the things that many married couples are accustomed to. I Think that was one of their downfalls though, they wanted and tried to have it all too soon! Most Adults who have been around the corner know how life is rarely ever fair and how our own system of justice rarely is just and Cassie and Lanny were no exceptions. It is a terrible thing when any young person passes away and it is equally as terrible for the ones they leave behind! You Hear the tragedies, but unless you are the one stuck fending for the survivors while also hurting inside, you can't imagine how bad it really is! Lanny was well liked and loved by many and is greatly missed!
